Also, a championship course, which has played host to the Challenge Tour, this is by far much harder than the New Course.

Many of the holes are lined by trees and although a ball is easily found it’s unlikely you will escape without playing a safety shot back on to the fairway.

The first 6 holes are long and tough and require accuracy from the tee. Especially the Par3 2nd hole, which is protected by water, although there is a bale out. From holes 7 to 10 it becomes a little more open including two short Par 3’s. Then it’s back to work again.

The course is tough but fair. The challenge is all about accuracy and playing within your limits rather than trying the impossible or blasting your way round.
