Lykia Links Golf Course

One of only 247 Links golf courses in the world, Lykia is totally different from all the other courses you will play on a golf break in Turkey.

Wide open fairways, views to the sea, lots of run (sometimes), hardly any trees, hard fast greens, steep bunkers and the wind. In short everything you would expect from a Links course.

The one thing to be aware of is, at various times of the year the fairways will not be lush green as they dry-out, but this is due to the Links effect and doesn’t spoil the game. If anything, it adds to it.

For many golfers playing on a Links course is a first. The weather and wind play a huge part in the game. What was a 7 iron one day can be a 3 wood the next day. There’s the challenge of keeping the ball low or bumping and running it into the green.

This is what the modern-day game evolved from and is still competed for every year at ‘The Open’ in Britain.
