PGA Sultan Golf Course

The Antalya Golf Club has two courses, The PGA Sultan and The Pasha. Simon Dyson, 6 times winner on the European Tour was so impressed with the courses and the practice facilities, he readily agreed to act as an ambassador to the club.

PGA Sultan is a true championship course which has hosted the top amateur tournaments in the world – The Brabazon Trophy and Eisenhower Trophy. In 2012 The Sultan was the first course in Turkey to host major golf stars, including Tiger Woods, Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy, who competed over 4 days for Turkish Airlines World Golf Finals Matchplay Trophy.

For the amateur and holiday golfer the Sultan offers some significant challenges which are fair. The opening hole has water right and left which can be daunting but get the drive away and set yourself up for a good start. The 3rd requires a bit of thinking with a small stream running across the fairway. The next 13 holes are a great test of golf with bunkers coming into play at strategic distances as well as three dog legs which on the Par 4’s require a good drive to open up the green for the 2nd shot.

Then just as you think you’ve got it sussed comes the challenges of the 16th (par 5) & 18th (par 4) both of which can destroy a scorecard. To make the green in regulation on both holes your drive needs to be as close to the water as possible. The question is do you have what it takes?
